Road – The village is situated on the A21, the trunk road from London to Hastings.
Rail – Robertsbridge station is on the London to Hastings main line.
Brief History

A Cistercian abbey was founded here in around 1176 by Abbot Robert De St Martin. The abbey itself was lost in the “Dissolution of the Monasteries” in 1538, but the village continued to thrive. A revenue officer was shot and killed, just to the north of the village, in 1740 by the notorious “Hawkhurst Gang” well known in the area as a group of smugglers.
