Firle Place is the home of the Gage family and has been for over 500 years. Originally Tudor, remodelled in the 18thC, it is similar in appearance to a French château. Sitting in peaceful parkland it houses a wonderful collection of Old Master paintings, European furniture and beautiful Sèvres porcelain. Guided tours.
Open Easter, May and Aug Bank Hols. Jun to Sept Weds, Thurs, Suns. House: 2pm-4.30pm (last admission 4.15pm). Terrace restaurant (licensed): lunch 12noon-2pm, tea 3pm-4.30pm.
